There is a tale we talk about in my family…that when I was two, I threw my mom’s phone (her most expensive possession at the time) into a water bucket. We jokingly call it my early tendency to destroy technology. I always have, to be honest. I couldn’t tell you how many laptops I have dropped or phones I have cracked. Don’t trust your electronics with me.
That was my first and ever rebellion. Later broken phones were mostly out of my clumsiness. Rebellion has since left me. As my mom texted me about this memory, “That was the most rebellious of you, and you had been a good kid ever since.” I actually feel quite upset about it. I wish I could be that cool, rebellious kid. I call recreation of the scene a “re-rebellion” because I want to remind myself of the impulse that has long faded from me.
