Tears going into ear, 2022

cardboard, newsprints, clear packing tape, sunflower, bean bag
86.6 x 51.2 x 23.6 inches (220 x 130 x 60 cm)

I crumbled newspapers into the shape of a human ear, adhering it together with packing tape. Who speaks and who listens? Alongside this listening organ of text, I place a beanbag for visitors to lie on sideways. The installation simulates the experience of being in bed and crying, tears streaming into one’s ear. By placing the ear and the act of crying together, the installation mismatches the conventional associations between specific body parts and emotions.
